What is Wellspring Chinguacousy? Wellspring helps people restore the dignity and control they so often lose when diagnosed with cancer. Wellspring is about helping people feel that they will be able to cope when cancer strikes them or one of their family members. Wellspring is about helping people live with cancer.
What kind of programs and services does Wellspring Chinguacousy offer? Wellspring offers a wide variety of programs and services: Individual and group support for people with cancer and for affected families including children, teens and caregivers; expressive therapy programs including Art and Drumming; coping skills programs such as Meditation, Relaxation and Visualization, Yoga, The Healing Journey, Brain Fog, Tai Chi and Qi Gong; energy programs - Therapeutic Touch and Reiki; seminars and workshops led by experts on cancer topics of interest; onsite childcare and transportation to and from classes; and bereavement support.

Who can attend Wellspring Chinguacousy's programs? Wellspring's programs are available free of charge to cancer patients, caregivers and their families who live in Brampton, Caledon and surrounding areas. Individuals who attend our programs are called Members.
Where is Wellspring Chinguacousy located? The centre is located in northeast area of Brampton (Map and directions) From Highway 401: Take highway 410 North to Sandalwood Parkway. Go East (right) on Sandalwood Parkway to Torbram Road. Turn left on Torbram Road to the second set of lights which is Father Tobin Road. Go left on Father Tobin to Inspiration Way which is the first street on your left. The Centre will be on your left hand side at 5 Inspiration Way.

What are Wellspring Chinguacousy's hours? The centre's normal operating hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Note: We are also open some weekday evenings as we provide meeting space for support groups and various local organizations who also support cancer patients and their families.
How do I find out what programs are offered when? You can find out what programs are being offered via our What's On brochure and monthly calendar or call us at 905-792-6480. The program listings are updated every two months.
How do I become a Member? Simply call 905-792-6480 or drop-in to Wellspring Chinguacousy and speak with one of Wellspring's peer support volunteers. The volunteer will provide you with information about Wellspring and its programs and, if you wish, speak privately with you about your circumstances and concerns. If you wish to attend any of Wellspring's programs and services, you will be asked to complete a Membership Registration Form which provides your contact information and some information about you. This information is used to let you know about new programs at Wellspring, and for program development purposes. All information is kept strictly confidential and subject to strict privacy policies
What kind of Volunteer opportunities are available at Wellspring Chingucousy? Without the support of our amazing team of Volunteers, Wellspring Chinguacousy could not function. Volunteers contribute to all facets of Wellspring Chinguacousy and its activities: peer support, front desk/reception, drivers, energy practitioners, exercise volunteers, facility maintenance, administration and fundraising. Wellspring provides an orientation and training session to all of its volunteers to ensure that they are familiar with Wellspring and prepared to perform their duties.
How do I become a Volunteer? If you wish to volunteer at Wellspring, please complete and submit the Volunteer Application Form. One of our staff will reply and discuss with you your interests, and the next steps for getting involved.
How is Wellspring Chinguacousy funded? Wellspring Chinguacousy receives no core funding from the government or other sources so relies entirely on donations in order to offer cancer support programs free of charge. Click here to learn more.
How many Wellspring centres are there in Canada? Currently there are a total of seven centres - six in Ontario & two in Toronto, Brampton, Oakville, Niagara and London and one centre in Calgary, Alberta.
