Embracing the New You

A cancer diagnosis may cause one to feel isolated from friends and community. Many patients become self-conscious and may perceive that they are being stared at when out in public. This may lead to a retreat from their regular social activities. This workshop will explore strategies for coming to terms with physical and emotional change as well as providing tips for confidently embracing the new you.

Advanced Cancer: What Do I Need To Know?

A diagnosis of advanced cancer can bring with it many questions and concerns. Please join us for an informative discussion with Amanda McLelland (Need credentials) on what you need to know when living with advanced cancer. Amanda will share ways to maximize the benefits of treatment, improve quality of life and where to find community resources. This session is open to both patients and caregivers.

Maintaining Hope

This session will look at the personal meaning of hope and how patients and family members may be resilient in the midst of change and challenge.

The Healing Drum

Monday, December 6, 1:30pm – 3pm
Facilitator: Jeff Salem

This workshop will be based on a drum circle setting that will take you on a relaxed global percussive and musical journey. You will get a chance to interact with others on several percussion instruments from around the world such as Djembes, Ashikos, Djun’s Djun’s and much more will be provided. You will learn many different rhythms in a relaxed and therapeutic manner and style.

Cleansing Your Pantry

Thursday, December 2, 12pm – 1:30pm
Facilitator: Lisa Bridgman, Holistic Nutritionist, CNP, RCNP

Let Lisa Bridgman, show you why the processed foods and other items in your pantry are inferior, and even harmful to your health. Lisa will go through the typical household pantry items and inform you why they need to be eliminated. You will then learn what to replace these items with and why they can help you on the road to better health!
